Smith Dentalworks

Technology

Being an innovative dental team is one of our guiding principles at SDW. Take a look at some of the advanced technology we offer to ensure that you have the best experience possible.

Digital X-Rays

Digital x-rays are immediately visible and allow Dr. Smith to see your teeth, jaw, and bone internally so she can diagnose any pertinent concerns early on. Early detection of many conditions such as gum disease and tooth decay allow for treatment with less complicated procedures.

Digital images are also easy to transfer to other providers that Dr. Smith may be working with, and they also provide a clearer picture of what's happening with your oral health.

Since there are no chemicals needed to develop digital x-rays, they leave less of a footprint on the environment.

Digital Impressions

Remember having goopy, uncomfortable impressions taken of your teeth and feeling like you were going to gag while the material hardened in your mouth?

Digital impressions eliminate this process because Dr. Smith can scan an image of the tooth or teeth that need to be repaired. We utilize this technology for record keeping to monitor recession and wear, for fabrication of crowns, veneers, and bridges, and the fabrication of night guards, retainers and even Invisalign aligners!

Solea® Laser

The dental laser allows us to offer exceptional care for patients managing gum disease. Advanced gum disease is an infection of the soft tissues supporting your teeth. In the past, we removed diseased tissue with surgical procedures. Now, the dental laser eliminates infected tissue with a concentrated beam of light and heat that also seals and sterilizes the area, so there is no blood or need for sutures.

The dental laser makes gum therapy more efficient, effective, and comfortable for our patients. It also accelerates the healing process to ensure that your gums are healthy again in no time.

Our team at Smith Dentalworks uses the state-of-the-art Solea Laser to perform many reliable, anesthesia-free and pain-free dental procedures. This type of laser dentistry takes the drill, the needle, the noise and the pain out of your dental visits. The Solea Laser allows for us to provide you with more effective treatments and better comfort during your appointment.
